Overview
The position holder for the role of Data Analyst will work closely with Finance, Grants, Operation, Communications, and Project MERL teams to ensure the availability of quality program and country office units’ data are linked together for evidence and data-driven project and country office monitoring and evaluation. The Data Analyst will support the compilation and examination of quality quantitative data and ensures its meaningful presentation in reports, meetings, and dashboards, and facilitate entry into the new PMERL system. Support in designing and digitalizing quantitative data gathering tools, data management, and data analysis and visualization for all projects.

Responsibilities
- Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
- Developing and maintaining data algorithms– reorganizing data in a readable format
- Performing data mining tasks, for predictive or forecasting purposes
- Preparing reports for the senior management teams stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant models
- Generating reports from single or multiple systems and providing technical expertise in data storage structures
- Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
- Developing dynamic and interactive dashboards linking together finance, workplans and M&E data for quick insight
- Supporting surveys and research design that includes concept writing, tool digitization, data management and analysis
- Ensuring all project data are linked to appropriate and up to date data sources (finance, M&E data, workplan data)
- Ensuring both project and country office dashboards are developed, maintained and use to improve project and office efficiencies
- Creating comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate data
- Continuously monitor and evaluate data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Conducting thorough data cleaning, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Training champions to support field level data usage using interactive dashboards
- Provide coaching and mentorship to MERL project teams on improving data use and data visualization in presentations, reports and technical briefs.

- Bachelors or Master’s degree
- Major in statistics, economics, computer science, management information systems, or a related field or equivalent related experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a non-government organization, or international NGO a plus
- Demonstrated experience with reporting as per the United States Government including PEPFAR funding requirements required
- High proficiency with digital data collection software applications and data management software like KoBo Toolbox, ODK, CommCare, Survey-CTO, REDCap, or DHIS2
- Experience in analyzing quantitative data using statistical packages such as Stata/SAS/SPSS is preferred
- Sound knowledge on data visualizations with BI software’s preferred Excel and Power BI
- This position requires high computer literacy with full knowledge of office applications, i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, and Experience with Spatial data analysis including map making preferred QGIS/ArcGIS
- In-depth knowledge on evaluation and research procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge on electronic data collection tools development
- Demonstrated background on working with big data sets and data bases
- Advanced analytical knowledge of data and business analysis
- Developing software and data models
