Background
Enabel is at a turning point in its existence. The major reform of the Belgian development cooperation brings new policy orientations and points of attention, new financing mechanisms and specific performance criteria. There are result obligations to which the organization must meet, and ambitious targets to implement more interventions for other donors. That is why communication is a strategic cornerstone of Enabel, a crucial tool to achieve our goals.
Enabel in Tanzania is preparing the launch of its new Country Strategy for the Bilateral Cooperation in Tanzania 2023-2027 while also preparing the kick-off of several interventions financed by other donors.
In this challenging context, we are seeking a communication officer for our head office in Dar Es Salaam.
Job description
As Communication Officer, you report to the Country Representative, and you coach our Communication for Development Officers (C4D) at the level of the interventions.
The challenge is to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the communication strategy of the Enabel programmes in Tanzania, to:

The challenge is to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the communication strategy of the Enabel programmes in Tanzania, to:
- Foster change.
- Facilitate the achievement of the development results and the sustainability of the results.
- Foster the stakeholder's dialogue.
- Ensure accountability vis-Ã -vis the donors and the public concerned.
- Ensure donor visibility.
- Generate knowledge that can be shared.
Responsibilities:
- You coordinate communication and visibility activities.
- You design and implement training activities for project staff, government partners and other key stakeholders as required on knowledge management and communication.
- You establish a mechanism for information flow within the key audiences and with the project.
- You systematically compile lessons learned from project implementation into formats suitable for dissemination.
- You collect, edit, publish, and disseminate human interest stories of change.

Your profile
- You are Tanzanian
- At least 3 years of proven and relevant experience in either communication or advocacy
- International professional experience / in developping countries
- Formulation of communication strategies
- Conducting workshops
- Experience in community mobilization preferably through social behavior change communication
- Experience working for civil society, bilateral or multilateral agency is an added advantage
Requiried qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in communication, marketing or public relations or related fields
