JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania entered into a Contract for the UPGRADING OF TAMCO – VIKAWE – MAPINGA (23KM) TO BITUMEN STANDARD, LOT II: PANGANI – MAPINGA SECTION (13.59KM) CONTRACT NO: TRD/ HQ/1069/2022/23
As a measure to strengthen Capacity of discharging TANROADS functions effectively, the Regional Manager’s Office TANROADS -Coast, on behalf of Chief Executive, seeks to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanian Citizen to fill Vacancy posts for the specific duties on short term basis.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill vacancies in the Region. Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable length of time in Coast Region within the project area when situations warrant.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Appointment will be on contract terms of one (1) year renewable subject to satisfactory performance, efficiency and effectiveness.

She/He should be responsible to maintain an office diary, to prepare correspondence reports, to facilitate site meeting, to attend visitors, to attend office phone calls and perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
STRUCTURE ENGINEER (1P0ST)
Structure Engineer at TANROADS Kibaha August, 2023
The Structure Engineer shall be fully responsible for structural analysis, designing of Bridge / Drainage elements and detailing. He/She will be responsible for the assessment of existing Bridge and design of new Bridge and all drainage structures along the project road including submission of the report. He/she should have the ability to read and including submission of the report. He/ She should have the ability to read and interpret project specifications.
She/ He must be a registered Civil Engineer with a Degree in Civil Engineering or Bridge Engineering or Structural Engineering. She/He must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Bridge Design and construction. She /He must have experience of Bridge and road works of similar nature. She/He shall be responsible for ensuring the bridges and other Drainage Structures are constructed according to design and conform to the contract specifications. In addition, He/ She must have a working experiences of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
MATERIALS ENGINEER (1 POST)
Materials Engineer at TANROADS Kibaha August, 2023
The Soils/Materials Engineer shall be responsible for conducting and supervising the materials investigation with a view to achieving optimal design and construction strategy. The soil/materials engineer shall carry out the pavement & bridge design should be conversant with current practice in testing and pavement construction techniques.
He/She must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or pavement or Materials Engineering. Postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Materials Engineering is an added advantage. She/he must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in pavement/materials matters related to road works. She/ He must have served in at least two (2) road projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last (7) years. She/he shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of all materials to be incorporated in the works, as well as the completed works, conform to the contract specifications. In addition, He/ She must have a working experience of at least 3 years in sub- Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
CAD TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

The CAD Technician shall be fully responsible for roads and Bridge CAD Drawings, preparing and running animations for the projects.
She/ He must possess a minimum of Diploma in Civil or Highway Engineering from recognized Institution. She/He must be a registered with ERB as Civil Technician. She/He must have five (5) years specific experience in drawings and drafting of road/highway works and construction. Must have served in a similar capacity on at least (2) road construction projects in the last (5) years. In addition, He/She must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub- Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

The Topographical Surveyor shall be fully responsible for conducting and supervising the survey team. He/ She will be responsible for planning of the fieldwork, select knows survey reference points, and determine the precise location of important features in the survey area. He/She shall be responsible for searching legal records, look for evidence of previous references survey points (geodetic reference points and national benchmarks) and analyses the data to determine the location of boundary lines and record the results of the results of the survey, verify the accuracy of data, and prepare plans, maps and reports.
He/She must possess a minimum of Diploma in Land Surveying. She/He must be a registered land surveyor. She/He must have eight (8) years specific experience in road design and construction. She/ He must have served in a similar capacity on at least two (2) road construction projects of similar magnitude and complexity with the last 10 years. In addition, He/ She must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
ASSISTANT SURVEYOR (1 POST)

The Soils/Materials Technician must be Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Civil or Highway Engineering, or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions with good working experience of at least seven (7)years in related field.
HIGHWAY ENGINEER (1 POST)

The Highway Engineer shall be fully responsible for the supervision of the construction in accordance with the provision of Contract. He/ She shall supervise the construction works with due diligence and efficiency and in accordance with sound technical, administrative, financial and economic practices. He/She shall perform all duties associated with such tasks to ensure that only the best construction practices are followed and that the final product is in all respects equal to, or better than that specified, at the most economic costs and is carried out in full compliance with the governing specifications.
She/He must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a Degree in Civil Engineering or Highway Engineering. Postgraduate qualification in Highway Engineering is an added advantage. She/he must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience related to road design and construction. She/He must have served in a similar capacity on at least two (2) projects for construction of bituminous roads of similar magnitude and complexity in the last 7 years. She/He duties shall comprise road surveys, construction of pavement structures, measuring of quantities and management of site operations, in addition, he/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
