Senior Software Developer (8 Position(s))
Job Location :

Job Purpose:
To lead a team of software developers in studying bank operations; designing, building, testing and installing software solutions or modifying/upgrading existing applications; support and develop software to meet key business goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in systems/projects scoping, design, and pricing exercises as part of the development and business teams' processes.
  • Work with Senior Manager Applications Development to ensure resource utilization targets are met.
  • Bringing together components and software subsystems into a whole and ensuring that those subsystems function together
  • Study information needs; confer with users; study systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating impact analysis, problem definition, user requirements, proposed solutions and efforts required.
  • Develop and conduct testing plans and procedures based on system requirements
  • Identify systems deficiencies and implement effective solutions
  • Communicate and enforce coding standards and recommending policies, processes and procedures changes.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend systems/equipment/technologies based upon user requirements and ICT system enterprise architecture in place.
  • Support and develop software developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
  • Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the trending banking software and technologies in the market

  • Familiarity with Agile's scrum development methodologies.
  • Fluent in at least two programming languages & two libraries or frameworks
- { Java, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, Swift } – C# & PHP is an added advantage
- { Spring Framework, React JS/ Native, Flutter, Angular } – Laravel is an added advantage

Qualifications and Experience:
  • BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Agile/Scrum certification as an added advantage.
  • 5 years experience in core software development
  • Proven experience in mobile application development is an added advantage.
  • Experience with integrations with bank products/systems is an added advantage
  • Experience with various databases and object-relational mapping (ORM) frameworks.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, Automated Builds and release Pipelines, etc.
  • Experience with software design principles, patterns, and practices - solid, clean code, design patterns and thinking

Job Purpose:
Responsible for the entire software testing lifecycle, from planning and designing test cases to executing and reporting results, ensuring the quality and reliability of software products.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the development process to identify and resolve issues early and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze requirements and specifications to develop comprehensive test plans and cases by collaborating with development teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
  • Perform manual and automated testing using various tools and techniques (e.g., exploratory, API, performance, security, functional, non-functional, and usability).
  • Utilize automation tools and frameworks to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  • Identify, reproduce, and document software defects accurately and efficiently.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, identify trends, and work with developers to resolve them or recommend improvements on testing processes and tools.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on potential quality improvements.
  • Stay current with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the entire vendor relationship for all Technology contracts ensuring vendor performance, and relationships, and managing end-to-end risk associated with Technology vendors to ensure the bank extracts the most value from the Investment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and standardize technology vendor performance management program.
  • Develop a structured IT vendor performance management framework.
  • Develop vendor management scorecards and dashboards.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key technology vendor contacts.
  • Proactively manage vendor performance to ensure they meet agreed-upon service levels.
  • Track and monitor vendor performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Identify and address any performance issues promptly.
  • Generate reports on vendor performance for internal stakeholders.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure efficient use of vendor services.
  • Work with internal Technology teams to define and communicate technology requirements to vendors.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • A solid understanding of IT and technology trends.
  • Procurement & contract management knowledge
  • Legal & compliance knowledge
  • Financial acumen
  • Able to understand contract risks and to work with other parts of the organization in crafting tactics and strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of contracting trends, licensing models, and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance models.
  • Knowledge of best practices for IT contract negotiation tactics and strategies.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, pleasantly, and confidently with technology management stakeholders both orally and written.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be self-driven, prioritizing work with minimum supervision and working to deliver.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making abilities.
  • Team player that motivates and educates other team members/change stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff, and vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or supply chain management/ or Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
  • Preferred professional certificate in vendor/contracts management.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in vendor and contract management specific in technology domain.
